On Wednesday afternoon all classes took part in a Team Building afternoon. Classes moved around the field and court areas taking part in various activities that involved working together. The Teachers had choosen activities that encouraged self development, positive communication, leadership skills and the ability to work closely together as a team to solve problems. Room 12 did 5 activities. First we did Tunnel Ball and we worked in our class groups. Next we did the Tower Building Challenge, where we worked in small teams to build the highest tower we could using the blocks in the hoop. The highest tower made was 61cm. Then we played Rob the Nest in our class groups. This was lots of fun. Three Legged Races were next, and we chose a buddy each and had a walking race first and then a running race. Our last activity was Island to Island. Each team had to get all its team to the other side without standing on the grass. Every time someone stood on the grass we had to go back and start again. What did we learn? We learnt that teams that co-operate with each other achieve more. What does TEAM stand for? Together Everyone Achieves More.
