Our talented Kapa Haka group (which includes some Room 12 students) had their first performance last week when we had our whole school trip to Darfield School. There are 3 You Tube clips to view. The Middle and Senior Syndicates went to the CBS Arena to watch a performance called Sky Dancer. THe NZ Symphony Orchestra played music to tell us a story. It is based on Witi Ihimaera’s novel Sky Dancer. It was about a young girl named Skylark who becomes embroiled in a prophecy which sees her embark on an extraordinary journey, a dazzling trip into the past to save our future. South Hornby students displayed Respect by: not talking in the performance, clapping politely at the end, not leaving the performance to use the bathroom, and walking in line so members of the public were not disturbed. Well done South Hornby!! Today Sean, Eden, Willow, Quintin and Sharayah went with the zones team to represent South Hornby School at Burnside Primary. Congratulations you sports stars!! We are all proud of your efforts. Well done!
