For the last few weeks of the term each reading group have been learning and perfecting plays. During the last week of term we performed our plays to other classes in the Middle Syndicate. Everyone did an exceptional job, and some children even learnt their lines off by heart. A big thank you to the children who filled in for children who were absent on the day The titles of the plays were: Best Chef, Clever Cats, The Perfect Breakfast, and Not So Fast. Here are some photos of each play.

Today 3 more fantastic Room 12 students were awarded their Sam Smiler badges. Eden, Sharayah and Quintin are super happy about it too!
Today the whole school went out on to the field to do the cross country. The Middle Syndicate girls went first, and then the Middle Syndicate boys. We ran around the field, out the Seymour Street gate, along the footpath, in the Shands Road gate, up the driveway and back around the field twice, and then up the finishing chute. Mrs Jones recorded the names of the first 10 boys and girls. In our class Sean was 1st, Jakeb was 5th, Quintin was 7th, Jermaine was 8th and Dom was 10th. In the girls race Emily was 1st, Sharayah was 3rd and Eden was 4th. We all did really well. We had been practicing for 3 weeks, and we all tried our B.E.S.T. (tried to get better every single time). When we were running down the finishing chute we felt – embarrassed, amazing, proud, nervous, hot, sweaty, exhausted, successful and relieved. When our race was over we sat down and supported the Juniors and Seniors as they came down the finishing chute. Room 12 have been having buddy time with Room 8. In buddy time we play board games, learn about what they are doing in the Senior Syndicate, we go outside and play games and we talk about stuff that has been exciting for us. Our big Room 8 buddies talk to us about the school values and they try and be good role models for us. Look at those big smiles!!
A huge round of applause to Sean and Marshall who were presented with their blue Smiler Sam badges today at syndicate assembly for consistently showing all of the school values and completing their Smiler Club Cards. The first of many more in Room 12 - watch this space! Next assembly in 2 weeks. |
