This term we are talking about "Life in the Freezer" and we know that we are going on a trip to the International Antarctic Centre. We had a big brainstorming session on 3 great big pieces of paper. We wrote all our ideas about:
This week Matua Mike taught us how to play Hipitoi and Hei Tama Tu Tama. This term we are learning some traditional Maori games. This term we have put our learning goals on "goal" fish and they are swimming in our class "goal" fish pond. It's o'fish'al - we are an awesome class! Wow! Thank you to all who view our Room 12 blog. We have had 8,000 unique visitors in the last 6 months!! Amazing!! Mrs M has been making these bubble wrap fish with us each Thursday. They used the bubble wrap to print a pattern and then used the pattern to make the scales on the fish. Lots of wonderful co-operative work this afternoon when the children traced a buddy and drew the digestive system. Some used their memories, some used their books to jog their memory - but you'd have to agree they did a brilliant job! Friday is our Buddy Spelling Test day. We work with a buddy and test each other on our spelling words for the week. If we have done our spelling homework each night we usually get all our words correct. If we forget to bring our Homework Book to school - we can't do our test and that's a shame. At the end of the term we are so excited if we have got no mistakes for the whole term!! |
